Suzanne Barr is a celebrated North American chef renowned for her Afro-Caribbean comfort food and culinary innovation. She co-founded Suzanne Barr Food and has held prominent residencies at the Gladstone Hotel and Sand and Pearl Oyster Bar in Prince Edward County. A passionate social advocate, Suzanne earned the 2021 Social Advocate of the Year Award from Restaurants Canada, emphasizing her commitment to issues like sustainability, food security, and nutrition literacy.

Her culinary journey began in a household where cooking was a chance to bond, explore cultural roots, and express love. Suzanne's food philosophy is centered on crafting nutritious, flavorful, and comforting meals with accessible ingredients, always elevating the ordinary to the extraordinary. She also authored My Ackee Tree: A Chef's Memoir of Finding Home in the Kitchen.

Her culinary career includes serving as Head Chef/Owner of True True Diner in Toronto, owning Saturday Dinette, and contributing as the inaugural chef-in-residence at the Gladstone Hotel. Suzanne also starred in the documentary The Heat: A Kitchen (R)evolution and is a resident judge on Food Network Canada's Wall of Chefs.
