Michael Bascetta
Co-Founder & Creative Director of Grada Coffee
Michael Bascetta is the Co-Founder & Creative Director of Grada Coffee, as well as the co-owner and operator of Bar Liberty, Capitano, and Falco Bakery. He is also the co-founder of Worksmith, a community hub for professionals in the food and beverage industry.
Michael began his career working in various restaurants and venues across Australia and the UK for over six years before returning to Melbourne in 2013. He took on a Front of House role at Attica Restaurant, where he developed a fine-dining skillset over 3.5 years, eventually becoming Assistant Restaurant Manager at one of the World's Top 50 restaurants.
At just 26, Michael co-founded Bar Liberty, which is now thriving alongside its sister establishments, Capitano and Falco Bakery. His leadership in Australian hospitality is marked by his commitment to mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning from peers both within and outside the industry.
In 2018, Michael co-founded Worksmith, a community hub designed to support and propel the food and beverage industry. His latest venture, Grada Coffee, reflects his ongoing passion for innovation and creativity within hospitality.
