Michael Bascetta is the co-owner and operator of Bar Liberty, Capitano, and Falco Bakery and co-founder of Worksmith, a community hub for those in the food and beverage industry.

Michael Bascetta cut his teeth working across restaurants and venues in Australia and the UK for over six years prior to returning home to Melbourne in 2013. He then landed a Front of House role at Attica Restaurant, and built up a fine-dining skillset over 3.5 years that saw him fill the role of Assistant Restaurant Manager in one of the World's Top 50 restaurants.

If that wasn’t enough, at the age of 26, Michael branched out to co-found and co-own Bar Liberty - now in its 4th year alongside its younger siblings Capitano (Italo-American Restaurant) and Falco Bakery, all of which Bascetta is a co-owner of.

Recognised as a leader in Australian Hospitality, Michael recognizes his own career propellors as mentorship, collaboration and learning from others inside and outside of the industry. Worksmith, a community hub for those in the food and beverage industry, was founded in 2018 as the embodiment of these ideals and exists to further propel the industry and those within it.
