It's a cocktail that has lasted the ages but did you know it was originally made with gin? In fact, it wasn't until the prohibition of liquor in the United States (1920-1933) that the Vodka Martini came into being. The reason? Bartenders and drinkers alike fled the US and took the cocktail culture with them to the rest of the world, in return, the rest of the world introduced a wider palette of ingredients to mix, shake and stir with - one of them being vodka.
