Pu-erh tea is relatively new compared to the likes of black and oolong. Originating from the Yunnan province in China it has been grown and consumed by the many ethnic tribes in the region for at least 1750 years. Pu-erh is also one of the most rare teas on the market, this is due to its small production batches and the precise conditions needed to encourage fermentation - think of this one as the red wine of tea!
