Lesson details

If you're wondering what wheat beer is, you're not alone. In Germany and the Netherlands wheat beer brewing is all the rage, but it's much less known elsewhere in the world and only in recent years has it gained popularity in England.

Much like bourbon is made with a grain mixture dominated by corn, this style of beer is dominated by wheat (surprise, surprise) alongside malted barley. This top-fermented brew is known for its light color, which is why the German and Dutch names for the style translate to white beer. It is also known for its unique flavor profile characterized by coriander and orange peel!

Skill up with beer expert Kirrily Waldhorn as she shares some insight into this emerging style of beer.

What you'll learn in the Wheat beer basics lesson
