
Angela Maher
Director and Co-Founder, Future Leaders in Global Hospitality & Tourism
Angela Maher is a lifelong educator with a passion for developing future leaders in the hospitality industry. She is the Co-Founder and Director of FLIGHT (Future Leaders in Global Hospitality & Tourism), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering a global conversation on supporting and developing the next generation of hospitality leaders.
Before founding FLIGHT, Angela taught for over 25 years at The Oxford School of Hospitality Management at Oxford Brookes University, a top-ranked institution for hospitality management education. As Head of School and Undergraduate Programme Director, she oversaw a cohort of 500 aspiring hospitality leaders.
A firm believer in the power of mentoring, Angela co-founded the Bacchus Mentoring Programme during her tenure at Oxford Brookes. This innovative scheme pairs final-year students with senior hospitality executives. In 2016, both Oxford Brookes University and the Bacchus Mentoring Programme were shortlisted at the Worldwide Hospitality Awards in Paris, one of Angela's proudest achievements.
Angela has dedicated her career to bridging the gap between educators and employers, ensuring that aspiring hospitality leaders receive the best education and training to maximize their success and find fulfillment in their careers.
