Dr. Ioannis Pantelidis is a distinguished hospitality storyteller, consultant, mentor, and educator with a prolific career spanning academia and industry. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Ulster University Business School (UUBS), one of the UK's largest business schools. Under his leadership, the department was ranked 1st for hospitality and tourism in the Complete University Guide 2021 and achieved a ranking of 44th out of 130 universities in 2022.
Born into a family of hoteliers and restaurateurs, Ioannis cultivated his passion for hospitality early, holding various management positions in luxury hotels and restaurants across Europe. His love for training and learning led him to academia, where he has made significant contributions as Chair for the Council of Hospitality Management Education, Director of the Association of North American Higher Education International, and a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality.
Ioannis's academic journey includes roles at the University of Brighton, where he was the Lead Academic for Knowledge Exchange, inaugural Director of Help to Grow, and Director of Doctoral Studies for Brighton Doctoral College. He also served as the Programme Centre Leader for Postgraduate Courses and was a founding member of the European Hospitality Academy.
Dr. Pantelidis's dedication to education and the hospitality industry is further demonstrated through his positions on the Advisory Board for Be Inclusive Hospitality and his past executive roles with The Institute of Hospitality, Tourism Concern, and Cavendish Academy.
